A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed on Sep 22nd 2015 by Prof. Dr. Tran Linh THUOC, President of VNU - Ho Chi Minh City University of Science (VNU-HCMUS, Vietnam) and Prof. LEE Namho, President of Chonbuk National University (CBNU, Korea).
According to this agreement, LED Agri-bio Fusion Technology Research Center - CBNU agree to establish a research program for LEDs in Agriculture -Biotechnology in VNU-HCMUS with the below activities:
- Establish the satellite laboratory for LEDs for agriculture Hi-Tech fields in VNU-HCMUS;
- Help to set up some research groups;
- Training or exchange programs for Semiconductor Technology and LED Agri-bio;
- Technical transfer and business.
Further, both universities have agreed on the development of a Double Master Degree Program (DMDP) between CBNU and VNU-HCMUS. Candidates for DMDP must hold a BSc degree in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or relevant Engineering.
Also, the MoA included 'Open Campus', an exchange program for CBNU students to study and experience summer courses at VNU-HCMUS during their 06 months in Vietnam. In exchange, lecturers and students from VNU-HCMUS will also able to join academic and cultural programs at CBNU in the near future.
